The puppies are getting really big now and have an amazing amount of energy. I took these pictures on Saturday. They are all active, happy, and checked out well in their vet check - except for a protazoa/ parasite issue which I am working through. Our veterinarian and dear friend, Dr. H. She is very gracious in allowing me to call her with any questions or concerns and is constantly teaching me how to take better care of my dogs and other animals. Most recently she has been teaching me how to use my microscope, which should help considerably in preventing and diagnosing illnesses. I will personally contact everyone who could potentially be impacted by the protozoa problem (i.e. owners of the pups that may need to stay here longer than planned.) I will use this time to 1) work them through the issue and 2) do some leash training. So far I have worked with Fiona, Koda, Logan, Echo and Wentz, just one session each. They have all fought the leash, more or less, but eventually figured it out pretty well and are getting used to the idea - well, except Logan; he was a bit more difficult. When he sat down and decided he just wasn't going to budge, I called Cleone over and had her help me lead him in the right direction, occasionally pulling him in the direction I needed him to go so that he could get used to the idea of giving to the leash instead of fighting it. That helped a lot!
Anna Frances got to take the puppies out for a run around the yard, 1 litter at a time, on Saturday morning. Enjoy the pictures! *I may not have individual pictures of every single puppy; sorry. They are all there somewhere though!
